Drapey Coat With A Pop Of Color

Boy, it’s getting quite cold in Chicago. The Polar Vortex is arriving early, and temperatures have been dropping like crazy! Thankfully, there is one silver lining: Coat Season. Stay warm!

Here, I am wearing a drapey wool coat featuring a black and white ombre pattern and an oversized shawl collar. One thing I like about draping is that it makes any fabric look less stiff. It also helps creating movement within the pattern, adding some flow to the coat.

To break up the black and white outfit, one can add a pop of color. I chose to go with a solid red belt, which I think nicely complements the pattern.
